Position Overview
This position works together, in a limited capacity, with Back-up Driver to help job seekers returning to the workforce.
This position will play a key role in assisting with conducting administrative tasks, form documentation, and monitor staff productivity while the Field Supervisor is away.
Essential Functions
Perform litter and debris removal within the highway, landscape, and community.
Assist community partners with special projects.
Clean and maintain all tools and personal protective equipment.
Perform manual weed control and landscaping of overgrown, fire tinder and unsightly vegetation.
Make firebreaks and fence lines where appropriate and instructed.
Plant natural vegetation of friable cut and fill slopes and any other areas subject to erosion.
Perform restoration by removing dead plants and replanting.
Perform general yardwork in the community locations as directed.
Perform graffiti removal in the community as directed.
Participate in all safety training; both daily and quarterly.
Participate in all training activities during shut down days.
Oversee the work crew in the absence of the Field Supervisor by monitoring and evaluate the day-to-day performance of crew members.
Ensuring the safety of the crew members by enforcing company and program partner safety rules and policies.
Utilize company vehicles to transport work crews to the designated work sites.
Conduct daily tailgate safety training with the crew members prior to the start of each workday.
Train crew members on how to safely perform job duties, compliance with company policies and procedures and critical employment soft skills and transferable skills.
Initiating corrective action for non-compliance.
Accurately complete required daily documentation and submit it to the appropriate department in a timely manner.
Responsible for completing daily vehicle inspections prior to the start of each shift.
Notifying the District Manager of any mechanical issues.
Maintaining the proper tools and equipment required to complete the day’s work assignment.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to management when required
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills
Provide excellent customer service to clients, vendors, and suppliers
Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will be responsible for supervising up to 8 crew members in the absence of the Field Supervisor.
Requirements:
Travel
Frequent travel (up to 100%) to different work site locations within the district.
Occasional travel (up to 30%) to work site locations in other districts.

Education, Experience, Certifications, and Licenses
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Drivers’ License
Six (6) months of previous supervisory experience, preferred
OSHA-10 Training within 60 days of hire
CPR and First Aid training within 60 days of hire
